The Moop Song: Featuring Buddy Carrot

As the good people at the Jack Rabbit Speaks wrote about this video. Couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

We don’t even … know … what to say about this, except that this dude is AWESOME. Hear what may just be the best (!!) song ever written about Matter Out of Place (MOOP). And the bonus? It’s a sing-along! Created by 2012 virgin Burner Shwaman Josh of The More Carrots (a Black Rock farmer’s market in the French Quarter Village).

Lyrics

Here’s our story its sad and true
About some trash and a carrot crew
we took some stuff and threw it around
and now we gotta pick it up off the ground

Chorus:
Moop Moop
Bumda moopty moopy, moop moop
Bumda moopty moopy, moop moop
Bumda moopty moopy, moop moop

We are the carrots and we’re good for the heart
we’re biodegradable and that’s a start
but listen people what we’re telling you
we gotta pick up all of the moop

We on the playa, it’s a grand ole place
and we tell you all, don’t be a disgrace
so if you don’t want to stay out of the loop
you gotta pick up all of the moop

Chorus

Ahh people like to travel around
and throw stuff all over the ground
now people let us put you wise
trash is something we despise

Here’s the moral and the story from a root that knows
that when it’s trash you gotta dispose
Don’t be a fool, we’re here to tell you, today
we gotta pick up all of the moop

Countless Carrot March

So you’ve heard of the Billion Bunny March? Every year at Burning Man, billions of bunnies run wild across the playa, celebrating their freedom and diversity in this renowned and illustrious event. However, many citizens of Black Rock City are unaware that an underlying discrimination is rampant amongst bunny communities, who express a general superiority to their food source (made famous by the respected rabbit, Bugs Bunny).

However, the Countless Carrots will express the dignity and inherent worth of carrots in the face of hurtful, persistent bunny prejudice. All carrots will be invited to our camp for a pre-party, where we will serve drinks, dress proudly in orange and provide sign-making equipment. Then we’ll head out to meet the bunnies on the playa.

You decide what happens next.

Pack your best carrot costume. War paint in orange and green welcome. Protest march signage, too. And join us each year, Thursday afternoon, for our Countless Carrots March pre-party at our camp before we head out to show the bunnies, that we are Friends, Not Food.

Check out the Carrots at 4:38

And see how we stormed the Man last year, chanting Friends, Not Food, at 1:59

Just de-mooping in the dust
What a glorious feelin’
I’m not goin’ to fuss
I’m laughing out loud
So put on a glove
It’s fun from the start
I’m de-mooping with love
We gotta leave truly no trace
Matter’s out of place
Come on sing again
we’ve a smile on our face
We do what we must
No Hint of Disgust
Just De-Moopin
De-Moopin in the Dust

De-Moopin in the Dust
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
We do what we must
I’m De-moopin’ and discardin’ in the dust!

I’m discardin’ and de-moopin’ in the dust …

We are the Carrots — my friends, song

Sung to the tune of We are the Champions

Thanks to Josh/Buddy Carrot, our own personal rock star

We’ve paid our dues
Time after time
We’ve been in salad
and juiced like a lime

And cooked into cake
to name a few
we’ve our share of bad comics named after us
but We’ve Come through

We are the carrots – my friends
And we’ll keep on crunching- till the end –
We are the carrots –
We are the carrots
No time for bunnies
‘Cause we are the carrots- of the world –

We’ve taken our vows
to be the best of them all
sure there is mushrooms, cucumbers, and asparagus
and celery sta—-lk

and we’re no bed of lettuce
but how’s this piece of news
We provide 407% of vitamin A
who would you choose

We are the carrots – my friends
And we’ll keep on crunching- till the end –
We are the carrots –
We are the carrots
No time for bunnies
‘Cause we are the carrots- of the world

Carrot’s Paradise – Song

Song by Shwarman Josh, More Carrot 2012

To the tune of Gangster Paradise – Coolio

As you walk through you life in the garden of food
take a look at at the ground and realize there’s something good
‘Cuz we’ve been growing and thinning so long, that
Even a baby one will make your eyesight strong
But we ain’t never crossed a bunny that didn’t deserve it
They be treating us like punks you know that’s unheard of
You better watch how you’re chewing, and where you’re hoppin’
Or we might be goin out for hasenpfeffer Shoppin’
I know you hate on the stick but we much more than that
we are really low in calories and zero grams of fat, fool
We’re the vitamin A the little veggies wanna be like
in the ground in the night, saying cheers in the landscape light.

Been spending most their lives, living in the Carrots’s paradise
Been spending most their lives, living in the Carrots’s paradise
Keep spending most our lives, living in the Carrots’s paradise
Keep spending most our lives, living in the Carrot’s paradise

The garden situation, they got me facin’
We didn’t pick it, We was raised by crickets
So you gotta be down with the root team
Too much sunlight and water got us chasing dreams
We a smart vegetable with tops over our mind
You can peel us in your hand and and we’re good for the eye
I’m a loc’d out Nantes, set trippin’ danver
And you better harvest us so you don’t arouse our anger, fool
Being Dried ain’t nothing but a heartbeat away,
We’re loving life, orange you glad, oh what can we say
We’re 12 inches deep, and covered in soil
Get on our good side, you best be loyal

Tell me why are you, so blind to see
Cause you ain’t been eating me
Been spending most their lives, living in the Carrot’s paradise
Been spending most their lives, living in the Carrot’s paradise
Spending most our lives, living in the Carrot’s paradise
Spending most our lives, living in the Carrot’s paradise

Carrot and the Bunny, Bunny and the Carrot
In it to win, like the tortuous beat the hare to it
Every bunnies running, but half of them ain’t looking
trix are for kids, but you should see what else they are cookin’
Bunnies gotta learn, And were gonna teach em
If they can’t understand it,
We guess they can’t, we guess they won’t
We guess they’re stuffed, that’s why we know it, fool

Been spending most their lives, living in the Carrot’s paradise
Been spending most their lives, living in the Carrot’s paradise
Spending most our lives, living in the Carrot’s paradise
Spending most our lives, living in the Carrot’s paradise
Tell me why are you, so blind to see
Cause you ain’t been eating me
Tell me why are we, so blind to see
Cause you ain’t been eating me
(fade out)

Yo ho, yo ho, Carrot’s life for me – song

More Carrot songbook and march chants for our Countless Carrots pre-party and march against the Billion Bunnies. Thanks to Josh for making these up.

Sung to the tune of Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate’s Life for Me!

Yo ho, yo ho, Carrot’s life for me.
We pillage the bunnies, we come from a root
Eat up me ‘earties, yo ho.
We pulp and we stew and taste good in soup.
Drink up me ‘earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a Carrot’s life for me.
We have lots of fiber, our flavors a kick
Eat up me ‘earties, yo ho.
Rewards are our fortune, unless you want stick.
Eat up me ‘earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a Carrot’s life for me.
We fight off constipation and bad parasites.
Eat up me ‘earties, yo ho.
We’re good for your hair, we give you good sight.
Eat up me ‘earties, yo ho.

We’re Orange and Purple, we’re Yellow and Green.
Eat Me up me ‘earties, yo ho.
We’re proud of our babies and beta-carotine .
Eat me up me ‘earties, yo ho.

We’re hated by bunnies, their jealous of our chants!
Eat up me ‘earties, yo ho.
but we’re loved by millions because of antioxidants,
Eat up me ‘earties, yo ho.
Yo ho, yo ho, a Carrots’s life for me.

Ain’t no rabbit fast enough – Song

Song by Shwarman Josh, More Carrot 2012

Sung to the tune of Ain’t No Mountain High Enough – Supremes

Listen, bunnie, ain’t no Rabbit high
Ain’t no Velvatine low, ain’t no Roger large, bunny

If you see us, cower, no matter where you are
No matter how far, better worry, bunny
Just hear our name, we’ll be there in a hurry
You might want to scurry’

Cause bunny, there ain’t no rabbit fast enough
Ain’t no velvitine stuffed enough, ain’t no roger dumb enough
To keep us from getting to you, bunnyRemember the days you used us to feast
we told you, you should always clean your teeth
And from that day on we made a vow
we’ll be back to eat you up some day, some how’

Cause bunny, there ain’t no Rabbit fast enough
Ain’t no peter full enough, ain’t no march hare insane enough
To keep us from getting to you, bunnies

Oh no Harvey, no sand, no rain
No playa hot can stop us bunnies
No, no bunnies, ’cause you are our foe
its gonna be trouble, we can see you better than double
run from us, oh bunny!
The carrots are alive right from the start
and we’re much better for the heart (then you!)
If you hear us marching onto the land
you rabbits better run just as fast as you can

Don’t you know that there ain’t no thumper cute enough
Ain’t no bugsy sly enough, ain’t no white rabbit late enough
To keep me us getting to you, bunnies

Don’t you know that there ain’t no Jessica hot enough
Ain’t no Br’er old enough, ain’t no Energizer, keep going keep going, keep going, keep going, (breath) enough
